Airong CHEN
Airong Chen is a professor at the Department of Bridge Engineering, College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University. Additionally, he holds the position of vice director at the Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of the China Highway & Transportation Society. Prof. Chen serves as the president of the China Group of the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS-China) and the Bridge Engineering Section of the World Transport Convention (WTC). He is the vice president of the International Association of Structures and Buildings (IASA), a board member of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) Foundation, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS) and the International Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE). Prof. Chen's primary research focuses on life-cycle design theory, multi-harzards resilience design and assessment, multi-scale simulation of bridge performance evolution, and safeguard technology for the operation, maintenance, and safety of bridges.
