My research centres on improving data resolution in road pavement maintenance management systems (PMMS) towards providing a robust backdrop for deeper pavement performance analyses such as deterioration modelling and enabling more effective maintenance decision making. I want to specifically focus on developing countries that not only often lack resources to gather comprehensive PMMS data, but also the know-how strategies for solving deficiencies such as missing data, low interval information and others. I have previously applied machine learning algorithms to imputing missing pavement condition data for the Kenya road network with good results and published a journal paper for it. I intent to leverage on other techniques such as remote sensing analysis and deep learning algorithms. I let off steam from my PhD research by going out with friends and undertaking adventure travelling.
